Must see

Schönhof

The Schönhof is a building that was remodeled in the Renaissance style in 1526. It was once the residence of wealthy merchant families and served as a model for many residential buildings of the 16th century in Görlitz's old town. After the political change in 1989/90, it was renovated and has housed the permanent exhibition of the Silesian Museum since 2006.

Exhibitions

The permanent exhibition illustrates on 2000 square meters the changing fate of Silesia and its inhabitants from the early days under the rule of the Piasts to today's predominantly Polish Silesia. Regular special exhibitions deepen knowledge about the art, history, culture, and landscape of Silesia.

Multimedia Show

In the multimedia presentation "Silesia since 1945", the history and cultural history of today's predominantly Polish Silesia from the post-war years to the present is explored using a wealth of images, film, and audio material, taking into account the Silesians in Germany.
